We can use our words to express ourselves and solve problems in our minds and hearts. 
​Join us for this exciting writing workshop, led by local author Diane Elayne Dees.

Participants will learn the Ira Progoff “dialogue” method of examining and learning from a person, situation, or memory that is causing discomfort or pain.
​Participants will also experience writing poetry as a means of facilitating healing.

Open to all.
Adults and teens welcome.
This event is part of the Healing Hearts with Art Festival and will take place at The Women's Center in the Great Room

​Healing Hearts with Art is a community-driven initiative supported by local artists and volunteers committed to promoting well-being through creative expression. The project is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the St Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.

​MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:

Diane Elayne Dees is a writer and a retired psychotherapist. Though primarily a poet, Diane has published essays, short fiction, and creative nonfiction in a number of journals and anthologies. She is the author of three poetry chapbooks: Coronary Truth (Kelsay Books), The Last Time I Saw You (Finishing Line Press) and The Wild Parrots of Marigny (Querencia Press), and she has also published four Origami Poems Project microchaps. Diane publishes Women Who Serve, a blog that delivers news and commentary on women’s professional tennis throughout the world. Her author blog is Diane Elayne Dees: Poet and Writer-at-Large.
