WILD ONES PONCHARTRAIN BASIN
And the Homegrown National Park
Thursday, August 15
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
at the Women's Center
Join us for this informative presentation on our local chapter of Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes, the Pontchartrain Basin Chapter. Board President of Wild Ones Ponchartrain Basin Patricia Zebrick will discuss the importance of native plants, and also present on Dr. Doug Tallamy's project, the Homegrown National Park.
This concept suggests that our protected lands are not enough to save biodiversity and thus ourselves. It promotes seeing privately owned properties as worthy of and important for conservation efforts and that homeowner/land stewards are the hope for conservation in the future.
Open to all!
This is a free event. Space is limited.
Please register to save your spot!
The event will be held at the Women's Center in the Great Room.

ABOUT WILD ONES PONCHATRAIN BASIN CHAPTER:
We promote environmentally friendly, sound landscaping to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration, and establishment of native plant communities in the Pontchartrain Basin.
Wild Ones chapters are a space where like-minded people gather to support each other in learning about landscaping with native plants and to share with others in their communities and networks about why it’s important to reintroduce native plants into public and private gardens and how to go about doing it. Chapters are where change happens. We are excited to offer Pontchartrain Basin residents the opportunity to expand their impact in the natural landscaping movement and help promote native plants more widely through participation in the Pontchartrain Basin Chapter.
