This presentation by David Schoen will focus on and share the latest research about the benefits of mindfulness, meditation, relaxation (Yoga/Tai Chi), stress reduction, comparing the effectiveness of short term versus long term therapies and living a healthy lifestyle in general.

The presentation would be of interest to Clinicians, Mental Health Providers, anyone in the Healing Professions and to the public in general who want to learn more about what works!

As a result of attending this training: 
  • Participants will be able to articulate easily the benefits of mindfulness, meditation and relaxation activities.
  • Participants will be able to incorporate stress reduction behaviors immediately into their lives.
  • Clinicians and Mental Health Providers will gain an understanding of why longer term therapies are more effective than short term therapies in creating lasting healing outcomes.​

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
David Schoen, LCSW, MSSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Jungian Analyst practicing in Covington, Louisiana. He has a background as an alcoholism chemical dependency counselor. He is a senior analyst in the Inter Regional Society of Jungian Analysts, co-founder and coordinator of the New Orleans Jungian Training Seminar and advisor to the C.G. Jung Society of Baton Rouge. David lectures and teaches nationally. He has published internationally and is a Louisiana poet. His books include Divine Tempest: The Hurricane as a Psychic Phenomenon (1998), The War of the Gods in Addiction: C.G. Jung, Alcoholics Anonymous and Archetypal Evil (2009), and Always a Fighting Tiger: Memoirs of One Ordinary LSU Football Fan (2014). David can be reached for an appointment at (985) 892-9545
