Grandmothers and Wise Old Women - Angie Howell
Within a vibrant and nurturing setting, we will sit in circle with other women to honor the wisdom within. In this sacred space, we will explore what it means to be Grandmothers/Wise Women today using storytelling, ceremony, and drumming. This will include an overview of the feminine stages of maiden/mother/crone, in the context of the Native American Hopi prophecy of "when the grandmothers speak, the Earth will heal." It is not necessary to have biological grandchildren to attend - open to all women who care about future generations and the earth. Angie Howell is a retired community social worker and "Founding Mother" of the Women's Center, having served on our Board of Directors for several years, including Chair and Gala co-chair, and has been at the heart of the Women's Center in many more ways. Angie has been fortunate to participate in Native American ceremonies and traditions for over 25 years and sends gratitude to Mary Ann and Bob McClellan (Medicine Hawk) and their teachers. She is also a quilter, a musician, and a traveler.

Human Behavior: A Conversation About Perception and Environment - Dr. Ola Jackson
This workshop presents a vigorous discussion on how our perception of situations, people, circumstances and events determines our reaction to them. Modern psychological research has confirmed that how people think about the events of their lives forms the basis of how they feel and behave. The perception of environment is most often immediate and automatic. This discussion will delve into the difference between the two and how to utilize this information in your everyday activities. Dr. Jackson believes that within each of us lie the seeds of unimaginable success. Helping others to nurture theirs has been the hallmark of her life’s work. She is a thoroughbred professional and serial entrepreneur who has passionately combined her love for transforming communities with her gifts for leadership and business. She is a retired college administrator and the founder and CEO of Career Advancement Services.

Memoir Writing - Bev Chase
Memories come first from the heart, run through the head, then flow out the hand. Memoirs are longer than a tweet, shorter than an encyclopedia. Some people write for creative expression, others for posterity, to heal, or for pleasure. Many have the inner urge to write the stories of their lives yet never find the time or courage to begin. As Facilitator Bev Chase writes in her memoirs, “I've been a daughter, sister, traveler, published writer, farmer, friend, lover, student, teacher, yogini, social worker, and an unbeatable Scrabble player. Such memories deserve savoring." Come join us on this adventure of authentic self-discovery. Bring your favorite writing tool to find meaning in what matters to you.

The Power of Words - Julie Flores ***THIS CLASS IS NOW FULL - PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER SELECTION***
We are creating our reality through our thoughts and the energy available to us through our bodies. Words and sounds have frequencies and the ability to change the structure of water and matter, as evidenced by the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto. The use of words and phrases on a daily basis creates a world of magic. Word magic can be used for good or bad. We use word magic unconsciously everyday, and it is important for us to understand the energy we are creating. This will support conscious speech and create more positive energy in your life. Julie Flores is a Registered Nurse and Practitioner of Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique. She has a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. Julie has a passion for alternative healing, especially working with energy, the hidden aspects of the mind, and how the psyche is involved in healing.

Reiki with Animals and Nature - Rev. Bonnie Poirier
Reiki with Animals and Nature is all about creating inner peace in a world that can seem out of balance and chaotic. We learn from nature about balance and evolving change. We learn from our animals to commune with nature and to work with all our senses - to smell the wind, hear the water, taste the rain, feel the moon, and see the spirits. Our goal, with our time together, is to create a sense of inner balance by paying attention to nature and to our animals with Reiki energy. Bonnie Poirier is an avowed Franciscan and pastor with the Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi as well as a Hypnotherapist and Reiki Practitioner/Teacher. Bonnie's ministry journey includes working with health and healing of all of God's creation that includes not only humans, but our beloved animals and environment. As stewards, we are the caretakers of Mother Earth and all of her beautiful inhabitants.
