What is women’s wisdom? What do women’s circles have to do with Mother Nature and Peace on Earth? How do women weave a web that lifts each other up, beyond divisiveness and into true community? The Women’s Center for Healing & Transformation brings you a series of episodes exploring women’s healing, holistic wellness, enrichment, and empowerment. Find out how this makes the shift to a more compassionate and egalitarian society for us all.
Episode One: Calling the Circle
In this first episode, join the founding group of healing arts practitioners and Earth lovers who heard the call to start a non-profit for women’s holistic wellness for mind, body, spirit, and community—all this on a shoestring---in the Deep South! Share in the magic of the transformative, collective power of women, and get answers to questions such as: “What about the butterfly?” Episode Two: The Wheel of Healing Ourselves
The next three episodes of this series focus on the Three Wheels of Healing we offer at the Women’s Center for Healing and Transformation: Healing Ourselves, Creating Community, and Healing The World. In this episode, Celeste Kelly, Entrepreneur and Women’s Transformational Coach, talks about her passion for lifting up women, and how that is a catalyst creating ripples through time. Sadani Janet Houtz, Yoga Therapist and MELT Method Instructor, shares about her path of healing the body, in big and subtle ways, as it supports physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Episode Three: The Wheel of Creating Community
In this episode, we focus on our second Wheel, Creating Community. Renee Ridgley shares her passion for the important Social Work she is doing in the community and her involvement with the Women's Center. Catherine Williams speaks from the heart about her work with the Racial Healing Group at the Women’s Center and related groups in New Orleans. Sally Alvarez describes her evolution from an Eracism discussion group member to a Boys and Girls Club volunteer to a community Social Justice advocate. Episode Four: The Wheel of Healing the World
In this episode we focus on our third Wheel, Healing The World. Asiyah DeGruy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher who is passionate about social justice and making personal health, wellness and healing accessible to all people in all spaces. Currently, she teaches yoga at Covenant House New Orleans, in addition to other locations, and her psychotherapy work. Rosalie Torres is an entrepreneur and artist who found her passion for healing the world by following her interest in reducing consumerism and re-using and re-purposing useful materials into works of art and jewelry. Rosalie's business, New Orleans Green, combines her love of nature with materials re-use in her environmentally-friendly creative artistry. Episode Five: Countdown to Women's Conference
In this month's podcast, we are so excited to speak with our upcoming Women's Conference Keynote Speaker, Lillian Savoie. Lillian is an entrepreneur whose energetic work overlaps with the mission and values that we hold dear at the Women’s Center. She is currently leading one of our special class series at the Center. Lillian is also the author of Fill Your Soul – The Feminine Way, a book written to awaken your feminine spirit and elevate your spiritual journey. Join us to learn more about Lillian, and how you can be a part of our upcoming Women’s Conference on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at the Harbor Center in Slidell, Louisiana. This event has been designed to refresh, restore, and renew the woman’s soul! We are all looking forward to being able to be with each other in person again, following the long, dark night of our Covid lockdowns and restrictions. We are so excited to bring women together in person for a day of connection, community building and consciousness raising - a day just for women, by women - a women's day retreat! |
