New Sibling Class: Welcoming Home Baby!

This New Sibling Class is an opportunity for you and your child to explore and discuss what to expect when preparing for the homecoming of your newborn.
Familiarizing the household with what’s to come provides a sense of ease when returning home from the hospital or transitioning into the postpartum phase following your home birth.
In Class: We will get hands-on, role-playing with dolls (diapering, feeding, comforting), read and share stories, talk about babies, create a family guide, and more.
Cost info: $65 suggested donation * fee includes all siblings in a family*

- Learn from experts - Receive support and guidance from an experienced Birth and Postpartum Doula.
- Co-create A Helpers Guide - Build confidence and empower your child with an interactive guide to safely and successfully support you, their parents, and their newborn sibling.
- Make A Craft - Mark this transition with a fun and meaningful craft, make a custom button keepsake.
- Close with Right of Passage Ceremony - At the end of our class your family will receive a certificate and your child will be officially promoted to Big Sibling with a pinning ceremony with their crafted button.

- Assign roles - What can they do to help?
- Coping - New schedules, sensory challenges, crying, and expectations.
- Safety - Identifying hazards, infant care, and boundaries.
- Emergencies - Alerting caregivers, getting to safety in an emergency, and 911.
- Safety and Wellness Resources - Leading experts of the North Shore.

PRESENTER'S BIO: ALEXANDRIA L. WILSON, (CD/PCD, CEOLD)
Alexandria is a certified Birth, Postpartum, Life, and End of Life Doula in the New Orleans/ North Shore area. Since 2012, she has built her principles on ancient and time-proven techniques, combined with contemporary science in the Holistic Health and Wellness field. In 2017, she established her first solo practice, Deep Down Doula, Antepartum, Birth, and Postpartum care. In 2022, she expanded her brand and specialties with the launch of Azure Dragonfly Birth, Life, and Death Services.
