Movie: Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North

Picture
Saturday, June 3
2:00 - 4:30 pm

Free and open to all women

A viewing and small-group discussion presented by the Racial Sobriety Discussion Group

The Racial Sobriety Discussion Group presents a viewing and small-group discussion of Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North.

First-time filmmaker Katrina Browne makes a troubling discovery—her New England ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. She and nine fellow descendants uncover, step-by-step, the vast extent of Northern complicity in slavery, while also stumbling and stretching their way towards greater awareness about contemporary issues of race and racism.

The film and discussion are free and open to all women. Seating is limited, however, so please register to reserve your place.
Your donations to the Women’s Center are always welcome and will be used to continue this kind of programming.
