Movie Night: Where to Invade Next, a film by Michael Moore

Picture
Saturday, October 1
6:30 - 9:00 pm

Open to men and women

"I have invaded your country, to steal your ideas..."

Academy Award-winning director Michael Moore is back with a provocative and hilarious comedy!

To discover what the U.S. can learn from the rest of the world, Moore playfully "invades" other nations to see what they have to offer and how the U.S. can improve its own prospects.

In the opening voice-over, Moore gives a sarcastic introduction about visiting the Pentagon and being given the green light to "invade" a series of countries authorized by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Moore leaves to "invade" various nations in Europe and Africa to take their ideas and practices for America.

Whether it's Italy with its generous vacation time allotments, France with its gourmet school lunches, Germany with its industrial policy, Norway and its prison system, Tunisia and its strongly progressive women's policy, or Iceland and its strong female presence in government and business, Moore discovers there is much that America should emulate. Turns out the solutions to America's most entrenched problems already exist in the world - they're just waiting to be co-opted.

An eye-opening call to arms to capture the American Dream and restore it in - of all places - America.
