This art workshop will allow you to create a nice work of art with paint, collage and oil pastels/colors. At this workshop, you'll be able to make that special someone a wonderful Christmas, Kwanzaa or "just because" art gift.
Darlene A. Moore is an artist, pastor and writer. Her love for people and pretty things is catching - come and share a colorful time!

Pastor Moore's art is currently on display at the Wesley Center and at the Rutland Street Gallery in Covington. Darlene Anita Moore, a native of New Orleans, graduated from Mandeville High School in 1982. She attended Dillard University and graduated in 1986 with a BA in Urban Studies and Public Policy. She continued her studies at Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Ga. and graduated with a Master of Divinity with concentration in Christian Education. She extended her education by traveling on three Pilgrimages to the Holy Land in 1994, 2000 and 2014; Paul’s Journey 2009 and Mission Trips to Ghana and Liberia, West Africa.
Pastor Moore became an Ordained Deacon in 1991, and Deacon Ordained Elder in 1993. Her appointments to area churches are as follows: Jones, Mallalieu and Trinity UMCs, Welsh, Jennings and Crowley, La. 1991-1996; Hartzell Mt. Zion UMC, Slidell, La. 1996-2002; Camphor Memorial UMC, Baton Rouge, La. 2002-2011; St. Mark UMC, Opelousas, La. 2011-2015; and Winan UMC, Franklinton, La. 2015 to present.
Pastor Moore in recognized not only as a Pastor, but also as an artist, writer, photographer and historian. Moore’s artwork has been shown in Upper Room Museum in Nashville, TN; Alexandria’s Museum of Art, Vanguard Gallery Baton Rouge; and The Scotts Coffee House in Mandeville. Some of her publication works are Sister to Sister Vol II, Women of Color Study Bible and Africana Worship Book B and Book C.
She was awarded Arts Ambassador of New and Emerging Artist Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council selected in Opelousas for “Fiddle Mania Painted Fiddle” which celebrated the city’s birth.
Pastor Moore’s career highlights include helping Welsh Jones build a parsonage and Hartzell Mt. Zion develop a successful stewardship and raise $90,000 in one year for the Family Life Center.
Pastor Moore’s personal mission is to Lift the Word, Live the Life, Let Go and Let God, Laugh Often, Lead from the Heart/Mind and Love People. Her favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me,” Phil. 4:13, her favorite saying is “Showers of Blessings” and her favorite color is purple.
Her hobbies and interests include being a volunteer reader at various schools, providing volunteer services at nursing homes, help center and the communities. She also enjoys walking.
