Election Eve Song Circle of Healing & Renewal
For Great-Grandmothers, Grandmothers, Mothers, Daughters, Granddaughters and Great-Granddaughters
Come and share in an initiative that is taking shape for the evening before the U.S. elections:
Still, peaceful, nighttime circles . . . circles of great-grandmothers, grandmothers, mothers, daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters around our White House and U.S. Capitol — the latter crowned with the Seneca mother on high — further circles around our state capitols, and city and town halls . . . hundreds, thousands, millions of women, Native, Iroquois and of all tribes, races, nationalities, socio-economic classes, and backgrounds . . . holding up candles to kindle the darkness, as they raise their voices and sing, sing together songs of peace, one after another . . . on our shores and, can you imagine, beyond . . . lifting the spirits?
Inspired by the Mohawk Nation, a matriarchal culture in which the women, grandmothers and mothers, choose the future leaders. In so doing, they seek out the peacemakers.
