Painting is a great way to process emotions, relieve stress, and find your own unique way of expressing yourself!
If you've never painted before, don't be shy! 
​
​Come spend some time relaxing and painting with experienced local artist Kristi Branch.
​
 
In this class you will be guided through the process of painting a butterfly- a symbol of growth and transformation. Students will customize their butterflies to reflect and express their inner selves. 

​
All experience levels welcome!
All materials provided. 

Adults and teens ages 13 and up

This event is part of the Healing Hearts with Art Festival and will take place at The Women's Center in the Great Room

​Healing Hearts with Art is a community-driven initiative supported by local artists and volunteers committed to promoting well-being through creative expression. The project is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the St Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.

​MEET THE FACILITATOR:

​Kristi Branch is an artist and designer who finds inspiration from nature and the fantastical. She loves animals and specializes in custom pet portraits. Her preferred medium is colored pencil, but she creates in various other mediums, such as acrylic paint and crafting.  Kristi has been drawing with colored pencils for 25 years, and is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. She earned a degree in Art and Design from Nicholls State University in 2005. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, gardening, and cooking.
