THIS PROGRAM WILL BE HELD ON ZOOM
This presentation will provide basic information regarding awareness and prevention of sexual abuse. Childhood sexual abuse and its presentation in adulthood will be discussed. Steps to protect vulnerable populations will be examined as well as resources to gain more knowledge.

Learning objectives of this workshop:
  • Sexual abuse of children and other vulnerable populations will be defined.
  • Attendee will identify indicators associated with sexual abuse/assault survivors.
  • Attendee will discuss when a referral or mandated report is appropriate and/or necessary and how to make such a report

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Lisa Donze Jacob, LCSW
​
Lisa received her MSW from Tulane in 2001 and her LCSW in 2005. She has worked at Mercy Family Center for 9 years providing individual and family therapy and facilitating social skills groups to boys and girls of varying ages diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Lisa is a trained facilitator of the Nurturing Parenting Program, Stewards of Children program through Darkness of Light Foundation, and a member of the first cohort of ACE Educators in Louisiana. Other experiences includes group and individual counseling to survivors of sexual and/or physical assault, work in Child Protection, Juvenile Detention, and facilitation of a parent support group for parents of children with Asperger’s Syndrome, as well as a support group for young adults on the autistic spectrum.
