Arrival at 9:30 am; begin meditation at 10:00 am
This event is open to all genders
Awareness of the Body in the Body: The First Establishment of Mindfulness
The Day of Mindfulness is open to all members and friends of the North Shore Rising Sun Sangha and the Mindfulness Center of Greater New Orleans. Prior experience with meditation is helpful, since we will be sitting in stillness for certain periods of the day.
On this Day of Mindfulness, we will offer guided and silent meditation, with special attention to our posture and breathing. We will also practice walking meditation, sutra study, mindful movements, singing as meditation, and dharma sharing.
There is no charge to participate, though we ask those who can to contribute towards renting the space. Suggested donation: $10.00-15.00 per person.
Each person please bring your own vegetarian lunch, which we will eat together mindfully.
