Picture
Amber Picou-Broadnax, Ed.D. is Co-Director of the Women's Center for Healing & Transformation. She moved to Louisiana in 2017 and immediately looked for a welcoming environment that focused on women. She found the Women's Center and began participating in several groups.

Dr. Amber has over 20 years of experience in community development, education and leadership development. Her passion lies in teaching and preparing girls and women to be confident, empowered and empathetic citizens. With her background in organizational development, Dr. Amber will work on the overall operations of the Center.

She has a BA in Social Science, a teaching credential in Social Studies, an MA in Leadership with an emphasis in College Guidance and Counseling and an Ed.D. in Organization and Leadership with an concentration in Higher Education.

In her spare time, Dr. Amber volunteers her time as an adviser to her sorority's little sister club and crochets afghans for friends and family.  She also serves on the board of her homeowners association. She is an avid genealogy researcher, for her family. Dr. Amber lives with her husband, daughter, mother-in-law and two dogs in Covington, Louisiana. Dr. Amber's oldest daughters remain in her home state, California. She also owns Amber Picou Consulting, a firm that designs and offers programs for girls that focus on self exploration, resilience and integrity.
