Trauma is defined as a person’s emotional response to a distressing experience which impacts a person’s sense of safety. Few people can go through life without encountering some kind of trauma. Trauma can appear in many forms, some of which include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, having trouble sleeping, being hyperalert, memory issues, brain fog, and physical symptoms like headaches or pain.

This group aims to provide a supporting environment where experiences can be shared and validated. Our goal is to help those experiencing traumatic symptoms to understand the effects of trauma while developing coping skills and relaxation techniques to manage trauma responses.

Facilitated by Rachel Coalburn, MSW Clinical Student Intern
