Teen Girl Empowerment Workshop

at the Women's Center
For Teen Girls Ages 13 - 17, with Licensed Clinical Social Workers Lyndsay Neel and Kelly Render
Trained clinical social workers will support teen girls as they navigate challenges in adolescence. In this workshop, we will explore aspects of positive and negative self-esteem, learn about reframing negative thoughts, and identify personal stressors and how to use healthy coping skills.
Highlights of the workshop will include:

- Discussion of positive versus negative self-esteem and different factors that may impact both
- Education on the link between thoughts, feelings, and actions
- Identify positive affirmations and practice how to resolve conflict
- Participants will leave being able to identify coping skills, positive affirmations about themselves, and learning how to communicate feelings
- Activity: creating a coping skills survival kit

The workshop will be held at the Women's Center in the Great Room.
MEET THE FACILITATORS

Lyndsay Neel is a licensed clinical social worker with over 7 years of experience in the school system. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief, and depression. She has experience in working with youth in inpatient behavioral health settings. She provides training across the school districts on topics such as trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, and relationship building techniques.
Kelly Render is a licensed clinical social worker with over 7 years of experience in the school system. She specializes in grief, anxiety, depression, and school/peer relationships. She has experience working with special populations, such as people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and youth impacted by cancer.
Kelly Render is a licensed clinical social worker with over 7 years of experience in the school system. She specializes in grief, anxiety, depression, and school/peer relationships. She has experience working with special populations, such as people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and youth impacted by cancer.
