"Stories Unfolded" Quilt to be Raffled

Picture
This Beautiful Handmade Quilt Can Be Yours!

The "Stories Unfolded" quilt that will be raffled this year as part of our annual Gala fundraising festivities was handsewn by Tutwiler Mississippi Quilters. This quilt was featured on "60 Minutes" in a segment highlighting the quilting group.

The multi-colored quilt has burgundy backing and edging. It measures 88" x 98" and fits a queen bed.

The quilt winner will be chosen at the Women's Center's 7th Annual Gala Event, "Southern Nights" on April 6 at Abita Springs Town Hall. The winner need not be present.

This piece of art displays the historical story of culture, resilience, and joy. Each color has a meaning, a secret and a hidden treasure that only the owner will feel and understand.

The group originally worked with scraps of material culled from various sources, but now works with new materials, most of them donated by supporters. Not long after Tutwiler Quilters was established they began to receive national recognition and exposure, including on 60 Minutes. Tutwiler Quilters is a member of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi, which preserves and promotes excellence in traditional craft throughout the state.
The quilt will be on display in the Great Room at the Women's Center. Come by and see it for yourself!
