A Discussion Group for Women based on the book:
Racial Sobriety: Becoming the Change You Want to See
by Rev. Dr. Clarence Williams
Come join us for our monthly gatherings as we study, discuss, and do exercises from the book. The ongoing group will meet for a minimum of six months. The book is available for purchase.
About the book:
Racial Sobriety offers a map for the journey from the “stinking thinking” of racism to healthy relations in the human family, locally and globally. The book outlines a treatment program for individuals and groups seeking to recover from a culture that avoids the conversation on race due to fear, ignorance and guilt.
Included are: the history of the construction of white supremacy culture, autobiographical incidents from various racial groups, reflection exercises for personal insight, and the explanation of stages of racial recovery and sobriety.
