GUIDE TO IN-PERSON EVENTS AT THE WOMEN'S CENTER
Picture
The Women’s Center is committed to providing programs in a physically and emotionally safe environment. Following the guidance of the CDC (cdc.gov) and the Governor’s office and in consideration of our tenants with whom we share building space, when you enter the Women’s Center masks must be worn in the common areas. While participating in programs masks are not required, though some groups may decide to continue wearing masks. It is our hope that every person visiting the Women’s Center feels comfortable and supported in their decision to mask or not to mask while participating in programs.

The building is cleaned and sanitized after each use. We encourage visitors to continue preventive measures which include covering coughs and sneezes, hand washing or use of hand sanitizer when appropriate and if sick stay home. We are a community, and in our community we look out for everyone.

*Due to the increased number of participants, larger/public events will require masks.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay happy.

This is a fantastic time to help a progressive women-led organization secure a firm foundation for the future.
There’s no time like the present to support our local women’s organization that is bringing forth innovative styles of leadership, supporting each other through times of societal upheaval that fall more heavily on women, and networking with other community organizations to build a more equitable society.

We have matching funds available in memory of Founding Mother Diane Finley, mother of our founder.

Our goal is to raise $10,000, the minimum amount to open the fund. Can we count on you?
Matching funds for a week!

Your dollars will be TRIPLE MATCHED for women’s personal healing and transformation AND women-led social justice initiatives in St Tammany parish and beyond.

Monday was national nonprofit day, but we have extended our matching program for a whole week, in order to begin a fund at the Northshore Community Foundation for the Women’s Center for Healing & Transformation!

Grandmother Group

Picture
Monthly, one Thursday each month
12:30 - 2:30 pm

Next scheduled meeting is on December 10

Our Grandmother Group welcomes women aged 50 and above for wise woman teachings from Native American and other indigenous cultures and traditions.

Grandmothers hold the space in our world for spiritual growth, community and healing. Our group’s spiritual work is based on the Hopi prophecy, “When the Grandmothers speak, the Earth will heal!”

Stand in the strength of your Grandmotherhood and join us for our talking circle, song, movement, ceremony and silence. Facilitated by Angie Howell, in consultation with Mary Ann McClellan.
