An 8-week women's group facilitated by Olivia Perry
Pre-registration and intake are required. This is not a drop-in group.
Is anxiety a problem for you? Have you tried to win the war with your anxious mind and body, only to end up feeling frustrated, powerless, and stuck? If so, you’re not alone. But there is a way forward, a path into genuine happiness, and a way back into living the kind of life you so desperately want.
Join us as we learn to use practices of mindfulness and loving acceptance for handling anxiety in our daily lives. We will use interactive meetings, activities, and small homework assignments to help us work together on fully embracing the present moment.
The text we'll be using is The Mindfulness & Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety: A Guide to Breaking Free from Anxiety, Phobias & Worry Using Acceptance & Commitment Therapy by John P. Forsyth Ph.D. and Georg H. Eifert, Ph.D.
Here are some resources for finding the book:
Barnes & Noble
Thrift Books
Amazon
More information concerning curriculum and materials will be shared at the first meeting on January 19.
The group will be facilitated by Counseling Intern Olivia Perry.
