"In counseling and therapy, an alliance is formed to help you move toward emotional healing, improved interpersonal relationships or a healthier lifestyle. Throughout the therapeutic process, goals will be established which will help you grow emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically.  In my view, the relationship between feelings, thoughts and behaviors is crucial to understanding the issues that affect being successful in life and relationships. I use a variety of strategies that can help people make sense of their world but mostly cognitive behavioral in nature. Yet, my overall theoretical basis is holistic, in that my study and experience have shown me an individual's emotional, mental, spiritual and relational selves are so intertwined that even though they can pull each other down, through good diagnosis and coordinated treatment, they can pull each other up as well."  - Melinda

What is Life Coaching?

Coach/Client Relationship:  An alliance is formed to help you move toward your specific goals.  Throughout the coaching process objectives will be established, and exercises completed, which will help you reach your desired goal.

Melinda's Areas of Coaching Expertise focuses on two specific groups of people:

1. Individuals & Families coping with chronic or terminal illness (physical, mental or emotional), death & dying or those facing other traumatic family adjustment.

2.
Professional Working Moms
      >
Time management
      > Work / Life Balance

Goal Setting – A step by step process ending with a full self-assessment, mission statement and goals in 7 life areas. The end result is effective streamlined communication & decision making made easy!

Coaching Process: During the process of coaching, clients must make their own decisions regarding such things as career choices or changes, health care, time management, etc. Coaches help you think through the possibilities and consequences of decisions, but typically do not advise you to make a specific decision. When coaching is done properly by coach and client, decisions reveal themselves and the client won't even desire advice in making their own decisions.
