Brenda Kelly began her career in yoga after several years of training in the BKS Iyengar method. Her training continued with the Shanti Yoga Shala (school) in New Orleans, where she obtained a 200 RYT Yoga Alliance certification.

Her teaching skills incorporate movement with the breath, with focus on ujjayi pranayama (victorious breath or ocean breath). This type of deep breathing, in and out through the nose, helps to create and maintain internal heat in the body. This heat benefits the muscles and helps to increase flexibility. This controlled breathing also helps boost the focusing power of the mind and concentration.

Brenda's classes range from restorative yoga (beginner) to power yoga (advanced). Most of her classes include a warm up & centering, deep stretching, vinyasa flow, asanas (yoga poses), balancing, and a cool-down period of relaxation and mindful meditation. Brenda is also experienced in teaching adaptive (wheelchair) and chair yoga. She recognizes that not every person is made the same, and we are each on our own individual journey. Classes are designed around the needs of the participants, with tools, such as blocks and straps, available as needed.
